The Drinks
Gin & Tonic
The Gin & Tonic is like someone's Great Uncle-- someone who once lived a grand life of adventure in a strange, faraway land, but today prefers the simple comforts of a cool porch on a warm afternoon. It's a drink that was tailormade for the tropics, sipped long ago by men in white suits and women in broad hats. Oddly enough, it was originally consumed for the quinine in tonic water, which British Colonials used to ward off malaria. Today's G&T, however, is far more effective at warding off a biting thirst.
Here's a tip: for the best possible G&T, make a batch of ice cubes ahead of time using Schweppes Tonic Water instead of regular water. It only takes a couple of hours, and will ensure your cocktail stays bubbly and delicious down to the very last drop.
Fill a Collins Glass with ice, then add:
- 1.5 ounces of London Dry Gin
- Schweppes Tonic Water to fill
Stir, and garnish with lime wedge
